Courtyard RainOut in the courtyard the rain is falling. Soft clouds of the lightest grey drift gently on the whisper winds, sifting through the suns faint light. The glow of that trips out past the grey wisps glides down in a faintly blue haze. The thin raindrops fall soundlessly, barely stirred by the warm breeze. The bricks of the courtyard walls darken a they thirstily soak up the rain. The crawling grass barely stirs. Each blade bending slightly when the drops try desperately to cling to their edges. A dainty little tree waves from the far corner. Flashes of sweet white flowers peek through the bright leaves as a strong breeze twists up, stirringCourtyard Rain

Crowded Air The clatter rises up, swirling in the air. It clatters into ears, muffling any chance of hearing anything useful. The voices lessen again and little snippets begin to make sense. Then with a roar, it builds again. One voice, annoyed and tired, raises itself above the rabble. Just shy of a yell, it calls out for quiet, but goes unheeded. A laugh shoots up from the mess of it all. Then something snaps and a scream strikes down the voices. Everything goes silent. Frozen by the chilling shriek. A smothered giggle, full of mirth and mischief, drifts up.Crowded Air

Worry lay heavy in her eyes as they came to the back corner. There lay Kini on their nest like bed of blankets and pillows. His face was flushed and his eyes drooped as sthe Attic part 3

the Attic part 2Pale light skittered out across the room reaching for the far wall. Sheets stretched out to cover the floor like a carpet. Some hung from rafters and walls as if drying in the sun. A careworn table so the light could rest briefly on the pristine blue cloth carefully draped over it. A mismatched pair of chairs faced each other, stiff despite their age. Limp pillows had been flopped lazily on the chair seats at some point gentling the rigid scene. Off in a corner that hoarded most of the distant sunlight, pale little Kini rested amongst a pile of pillows, blankets, and quilts. His face was peaceful and his breathing was slow and softhe Attic part 2
